PHYSICSSYLLABUS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL 6th TO 8TH STANARD TEACHERS RECRUITMENT
1.Units and measurement:
• Fundamental units ,derived units and their symbols. Measurement of
mass , volume, density , distance of longer distance objects like sun,
planets etc.
2.Magnetism:
• Meaning of magnets, types , Properties. Magnetic material and their
types and examples. Preparation of magnets, electromagnets and
applications of magnets.
3.Electricity:
• Meaning of electric current, types of electric current and their
difference. Electrical resistance, Ohm’s law, variation of resistance
with length, thickness, temp and material of the conductor. Potential
difference, emf,voltage and units. Electromagnetic induction,
Faraday’s laws of electromagnetic induction.Fleming’s left hand and
right hand rule.
4.Dynamics:
• Scalars and vectors meaning and examples, Displacement, Distance
travelled, speed, velocity, acceleration units and problems. Newton’s
three laws of motion and illustrations. Inertia, Force, work,
momentum units and problems. Circular motion-centripetal force,
centrifugal reaction and applications.
5. FRICTION:
Meaning, types, causes, factors affection friction, methods of increasing
and reducing friction, uses and affects of friction.
6.Gravitation :
• Meaning, acceleration due to gravity, variation of acceleration due to
gravity on the earth. Newton’s law of gravitation, Weight,
weightlessness.
7.Rockets and artificial satellites :
• Principle, Different stages, Launching of rockets. Escape velocity,
orbital velocity, communication satellites, geo-centric satellites.
ISRO- programs, moon mission.
8.Heat:
• Heat and temperature meaning and differences. Different scales of
measurement of temperature and inter conversions. Units of
measurement of heat Joule, Calorie. Anomalous expansion of water,
Heat engines- different types, petrol and diesel engine, efficiency of
heat engine- problems.
9.Light :
• Properties of light,. Mirrors , different types of mirrors and image
formation, uses. Lenses , image formation in different types of
lenses, Uses. Phenomenon and laws of reflection and refraction.
Dispersion, scattering, total internal reflection, optical fibres –
uses.Theories of light- Newton’s corpuscular theory, Huygen’s wave
theory, Maxwell’s electromagnetic wave theory, Max planck’s
quantum theory, dual nature of light.
10.Sound:
• Sound waves ,Echo’s. Wavelength, period, frequency, amplitude of
waves. Infrasonic and ultrasonic sound waves. Sonar, ultra sound
scanner, their uses.
11.Electromagnetic radiation:
• Meaning, examples, properties,uses of different electromagnetic
radiations.Photo electric effect, experimental facts about pef,
Einstein/s explanation and applications of Pef. Laser meaning ,
production, properties and uses.
12.Energy :
• Meaning different forms of energy, law of conservation of energy .
Inter conversion of energy from one form to another form. Power,
Kinetic energy and potential energy meaning , example and
problems.
